Introduction: testicular cancer is the most common neoplasm in men during their reproductive age, representing 5% of the solid neoplasms that appear between 18 and 35 years of age.
Objective: to characterize the epidemiological, clinical and histopathological behavior of testicular cancer at the Comandante Faustino P?rez of Matanzas Clinical-Surgical Hospital in the period 2020-2022.
Methods: an observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out in patients over 18 years of age with a diagnosis of testicular cancer, treated between 2020 and 2022 at the Faustino P?rez Hospital. The universe included 13 patients with the disease. A sample of 10 patients who met the selection criteria was studied: post-orchiectomy histopathological diagnosis of testicular cancer with five-year temporal follow-up by clinical, tumor and radiological markers. The variables analyzed were: age, skin color, affected testicle, presence of metastatic lesion, histological type.
Results: 10 cases of testicular cancer were identified, all under 50 years of age. A higher frequency of involvement was found in the right testicle in seven patients. The incidence in the white race represented 70%. No evidence of metastasis was found in 60% of the cases. The most common was seminoma with 40%.
Conclusions: the average age was approximately 31 years. A higher incidence was found in white patients. Greater frequency in the right testicle. Patients without evidence of metastasis predominated. Seminoma was the most common histological type.
