Abstract

Surgery is one of the main treatments for breast cancer in women, there are two main types of surgical treatment: conservative and radical surgery. Both options aims at removing the tumor and the surrounding affected tissue; They differ in the amount of breast tissue removed. The choice between conservative or radical surgery in women with breast cancer is an important decision that can have a significant impact on their health and quality of life. Conservative surgery has a lower risk of postoperative complications, small loss of breast tissue, a positive impact on self-esteem and body image, faster recovery and less postoperative pain, the possibility of preserving nipple sensitivity and the ability to breastfeed in the future. While radical surgery has a higher risk of complications, such as infections and healing problems.
